BENT HAMER

Bent Hamer is an internationally acclaimed film auteur, director, producer, and writer, known for his films Eggs (1995), Kitchen Stories (2003), O’ Horten (2007), Factotum (2005), Home For Christmas (2010), 1001 Grams (2014) and picking up multiple awards in many nations including Cannes.

Hamer is the owner and founder of the BulBul Film Association, established in Oslo in 1994, and ha been called the Norwegian film auteur, due to his film language and how he tells his stories. Film historian Peter Cowie has compared Hamers characters with Jacques Tati. There’s no doubt Hamer will be standing as one of the most important Filmmakers and a leader of the New Norwegian Wave that started in the mid-nineties. (IMDb.com)

 


LEAD ACTOR (Frank Farrelli)

Winning the Amanda award for Best Actor for his portrayal of Frank Farelli in THE MIDDLE MAN, Pål Sverre Hagen is a Norwegian screen and stage actor with an impressive career playing major roles in both Scandinavian and International films, for which he has received several awards and accolades. He is perhaps best known for his roles in Troubled Water, Kon-Tiki, In Order of Disappearance, Valkyrien and Amundsen.

Hagen achieved world wide recognition for portraying Thor Heyerdahl in the epic historical feature Kon-Tiki (2012) directed by Espen Sandberg and Joachim Rønning, about the Kon-Tiki expedition in 1947. Kon-Tiki was nominated for an Academy Award and a Golden Globe Award.

Most recently Pål Sverre Hagen stars in the leading role of Roald Amundsen, the Arctic explorer in Espen Sandberg’s feature Amundsen (2019). He also appears in Out Stealing Horses (2019) by Hans Petter Moland, the television series Exit (2019), the Danish feature Lifeboat (2019), and the leading role in Halo of Stars (2019) alongside Lily Collins and Holliday Grainger, directed by Anthony Lucero. (IMDb.com)

NINA ANDRESEN-BORUD

The role of Frank’s Mother in THE MIDDLE MAN will be the second time British-Canadian-Norwegian actor Andresen-Borud teams up with director Bent Hamer, the first being when she played jilted lover, Karin in Hamer’s Christmas classic, HOME FOR CHRISTMAS (2010).

She has worked extensively in both English and Norwegian in theaters around Norway, including The National Theatre, as well as for Norwegian television and feature films; most notably “Home For Christmas” with director Bent Hamer; “The Snake Carrier” with director Martin Asphaug; “Detektor” with director Pål Jackman; and “Aberdeen” with director Hans Petter Moland and lead actors, Stellan Skarsgård and Lena Heady.

Andresen-Borud trained in Acting and Musical Theatre at the Hertfordshire Theatre School UK, holds an Acting Licentiate from LAMDA and a Pedagogy in Theatre Arts from the Norwegian National Academy of the Arts.(IMDb.com)
